Star Line – now known as Mackinac Island Ferry Company (MIFC) is proud to announce their success in raising $15,452.72 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during their 2022 summer season. 100% of all donations go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to support its lifesaving mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® Through the help of its customers and its employees, MIFC was able to make a lasting impact on the children of St. Jude. Knowing how far a small effort like this can go makes them even more determined – they’ve set themselves up with a fantastic goal of raising over ten times that amount during the 2023 season!
“We have always had a passion for giving back to our community,” says MIFC CEO, Jerry Fetty, “and partnering with St Jude allowed us to take that passion even further by helping children and families in need.”
The partnership between MIFC and St Jude began in 2022 and is making waves by working together by creating a unique fundraising initiative centered around the purchase of priority boarding tickets for ferry service to Mackinac Island – $2 from every sale goes straight to St Jude’s Children Research Hospital®! It doesn’t stop there either; shoppers are also able to donate at checkout when they buy any ticket or gift store item. On top of that incredible generosity, staff members get in on it too by donating directly through payroll deductions.
The entire staff at Mackinac Island Ferry Company would like to thank everyone who contributed to this incredible effort! “It was amazing seeing everyone come together for such an important cause,” said Vicki Millard, Director of Human Resources at MIFC. “It’s truly inspiring that so many people care about making a difference in the lives of these children.” The company believes that this kind of philanthropic effort can make a lasting impact in our local community and beyond as it sets up future generations for success.
