MACKINAC ISLAND, MI – If you’re looking to add a little “Ahoy, matey!” fun into your trip to or from Mackinac Island this summer, Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry Company is putting its Good Fortune pirate ship on a regular sailing schedule between the island and the mainland for the rest of the summer.
It’s also got an evening schedule of pirate cruises departing from Mackinac Island. The early cruises are family-friendly, while the later cruises are for those 21 and older.
“Going to Mackinac Island is all about experiencing something new and making lasting memories. And when you see the pirate ship at the Mackinaw City dock, it’s an opportunity to add a unique and exciting adventure to your trip,” said Jerry Fetty, CEO of Mackinac Island Ferry Company.
The daytime trips aboard the pirate ship Good Fortune have already started, and the evening cruise schedule begins June 22. All these run through Sept. 2. More details on price, times and online ticket reservations can be found on the website here. Here’s the breakdown:
Evening cruises aboard the Good Fortune:
Family-friendly cruises: Beginning June 22, these depart Wednesdays through Saturdays. They leave at 5:45 p.m. from the Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry Company’s Main Dock on Mackinac Island. Some cruises sail under the Mackinac Bridge, while others take a spin around the island.
Nauti Pirate Cruises: These cruises are for the 21 and older crowd only. They run Thursdays through Saturdays. They depart the company’s Main Dock on the island at 7:15 p.m. A valid ID is required. A cash bar and snacks are available on board.
Daily trips aboard the Good Fortune to or from Mackinac Island: These Tuesday through Saturday daytime tips are already underway. They will run through Sept. 2. These trips go between the island and the company’s Mackinaw City dock. Here’s what the ferry company says about them:
“Travel to or from Mackinac Island aboard the pirate ship Good Fortune. The options are simple. Take a Hydro-Jet ferry to the Island and ride the pirate ship back to the mainland, or take the pirate ship to the Island and ride a Hydro-Jet ferry back.”
